Summary
Jointly run by Yes! Chinese Inc. and Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters, Yes! Chinese is
comprehensive Chinese learning programs specially developed for young students of both Chinese
or none-Chinese heritage. Yes! Chinese course programs include printed materials, online
lessons, interactive CD-ROM, educational services and support.
Yes! Chinese adapts the latest Chinese teaching methods and technologies, is created with guidance of
the new world language standards, commonly known as 5Cs, and closely follows the general
requirements defined in YCT and HSK tests by Chinese National Hanban and Confucius Institute
Headquarters.
Instruction
Chinese Starter (Volume 1-2)
This entry level is made up of two Volumes in 4 sets of textbooks. They are start lessons with
simple dialogues, easy approach, and many repeats. The comprehensive online lessons help young
students to quickly build up long lasting interest in learning Chinese.
>> Understand Chinese Phonetics (Pinyin) and how to type Chinese on a computer
>> Make personal introductions (saying one’s name and discussing one’s family, hobbies, and
abilities).
>> Understand expressions for numbers, speeds, distances, modes of transportation, holidays, and
other activities.
>> Learn how to make suggestions, express opinions and give reasons.
Chinese Elementary (Volume 3-6)
The Beginer level has 4 Volumes in 8 sets of books. In addition to developing real life dialogue
skills, Volume 3 and 4 teaches pronunciation (Pinyin) to prepare for typing lessons, while Volume 5 and
6 introduce Chinese culture through modern short stories. This level also completes all YCT
requirements, and CAWLS (California World Language Standard) Stage I & II.

Chinese Intermediate (Volume 7-10)
The Intermediate level has 4 Volumes in 8 sets of books. Through extensive Internet based
interactive clips in forms of dialogues and stories, Chinese Intermediate brings more
comprehensive learning to help students farther develop their language skills. The completion of
Volume 7 to 10 will statisfy HSK Level 4, and CAWLS Stage III and Stage IV.

Chinese Advanced (Volume 11-14)
The Advanced level has 4 Volumes in 8 sets of books. At this level, we focus on practical use of
Chinese through the combination of real life videos and interactive animated clips, as well as
general introduction to Chinese literature and 5000 years of Chinese History. The
completion of this level would enable students to live or work in China without major barriers.

YCT/HSK
After completing all 20 volumes of all the courses, students should be able to gradually meet the
requirements of YCT Level 1 to 4, then HSK Level 1 to 5, and AP Chinese. Advanced students are able
to succeed and enjoy themselves in a Chinese language environment as much as they do in their
native culture.
Educational Services
for Students
Chinese Proficiency Tests
Students can take Yes! Chinese Stage Tests (a total of twenty stages, one for each volume) to
assess their Chinese proficiency, or take YCT/HSK for general assessments.
Online Interactive Tutoring
For added coaching, students can take advantage of our online interactive tutoring service. This
fee-based service is provided by an affiliated education service center.
Cultural Learning Events and summer Camp
Yes! Chinese works with a number of institutions to offer a complete material package of Chinese
events, such as partnership with an elementary school in China to offer a three-week summer camp
to give students firsthand experience of life in China.
for Teachers
Teacher Training
Yes! Chinese provides one-on-one training for teachers prior to them starting a Yes! Chinese
course. This training covers all of the information in this booklet, as well as an overview of
basic resources and services available for Yes! Chinese customers.
Yes! Chinese Teachers' Certification
Teachers who have successfully taught at least one full year of Yes! Chinese at any level qualify
to take the Yes! Chinese Certification Program. Upon completion of the course, teachers receive a
"Yes! Chinese Certified Teacher" certificate.
Teaching Support
Teachers at a POTS member school can participate in group training sessions and receive a custom
kit, which includes all essential teaching materials (teacher's guide, online courses, resource
downloads, quizzes, and the Yes! Chinese Stage Tests).

Branding and Marketing Support
Yes! Chinese works closely with marketing experts to maximize the influence of our brand in the
field of Chinese language education, and therefore to build trust with parents and students,
improve prestige, and in turn, expand its student base. We offer local media placement rebate
programs for participating POTS member schools.
Administrative Support
Our Chinese School Management System (CSMS) eliminates the burden for schools of managing their
own websites and school administration systems. This is a free service for POTS member schools.
Short-Term Program Support
We offer curriculum and short-term program support for schools considering special session
offerings. For example, a school that chooses to host a summer camp Chinese program may choose
to use the JS Pinyin system or rhythm flashcards.
